The derivative expression between activation energy (E) and exponent (n) was deduced based on empirical equation. It was found that the increase of activation energy results in the decrease of exponent, vice versa. The two parameters were involved in the analysis of the thermal degradation pathway and mechanism of polystyrene. The degradation kinetics of polystyrene complied with the prediction of the derivative expression. In addition, the effects of temperature, atmosphere and additives on the kinetics of polystyrene were briefly discussed。 |
