| Current practice in predicting safe separation distances between buildings relies on an assessment of the radiant hazard posed by post flashover flames. A method is proposed for calculating the radiant heat flux of post flashover flames to surfaces outside a vertical vent. An experimental study is made in reduced scale compartment to examine the validity of the method for extrusive flames unaffected by wind. |
