This paper first summarizes the characteristics of catastrophe model and the application directions on the catastrophe theory, and then reviews some applications of catastrophe theory in fire science, with three application characteristics outlined. Based on the specific oil and gas explosion experimental data, a preliminary study is conducted on the explosive catastrophe model by random catastrophe theory. The result suggests the feasibility of developing statistical catastrophe model. Finally, two significant fire research subjects on catastrophe theory are suggested. |
