      利用方形木垛模拟森林可燃物,研究了不同离地高度(h=0 cm~10 cm)和木条长宽比(l/b=20~60)条件下火旋风的燃烧特性变化规律。结果表明,木垛火旋风的燃烧速率随着孔隙率的增大先增大后趋于稳定,最大燃烧速率为自由木垛火的1.51倍。木垛火旋风的燃烧速率随木垛离地高度的增加而减小,随木条长宽比的变化不显著。建立了耦合孔隙率和离地高度的木垛火旋风燃烧速率预测关系式,对比实验数据符合较好。木垛火旋风的特征长度与木垛的水平宽度和竖直高度均相关。基于木垛修正特征长度的Thomas浮力火焰高度模型和火旋风耦合型火焰高度模型都能够较好地预测木垛火旋风的火焰高度。

      This paper presents an experimental study on the combustion characteristics of fire whirls, in which square wood cribs were used to simulate porous combustible fuel in the forests under different ground clearance (h=0 cm~10 cm) and aspect ratios of the wood sticks (l/b=20~60). The results indicated that the burning rate of the wood crib fire whirl initially increased and then tended to be steady with increasing porosity. The maximum burning rate was 1.51 times that of the free-burning wood crib fire. The burning rate of the wood crib fire whirl decreased with increasing ground clearance, but showed insignificant variation with the aspect ratio of the wood sticks. A burning rate model, which couples the porosity and the ground clearance, is proposed for the crib fire whirl and agrees well with experimental data. The characteristic scale of the crib fire whirl is related to both the horizontal width and vertical height of the wood crib. The Thomas’ buoyant flame height correlation and the coupled flame height model of fire whirl could effectively predict the flame height of the fire whirl by using the modified characteristic length of the wood crib.
