A detailed analysis was conducted on the architectural characteristics and fixed fire loads of the Yanxi Hall in the Palace Museum. Using FDS software, various fire scenarios were simulated, and the key data from the fire scenes were systematically organized and analyzed. The study reveals that the fixed fire load of Yanxi Hall is as high as 3 493.16 MJ·m-2, exceeding the average level of modern buildings; the time required for the fire to develop to the flashover stage is relatively short, and the fire risk in the roof area is particularly significant. Under various simulated scenarios, the indoor temperature at a height of 2 meters in Yanxi Hall quickly exceeded the safe tolerance limit for the human body, and at the same time, the concentrations of toxic gases CO and CO2 posed potential threats. With the spread and increase in concentration of smoke, the difficulty of personnel evacuation and cultural relic rescue significantly increased. Based on these research results and in line with actual work needs, this paper proposes targeted fire prevention recommendations to provide scientific guidance for fire prevention work in Yanxi Hall and similar ancient buildings, thereby enhancing the effective and scientific management of fire.
